Isopsoralen is a furanocoumarin that is usually isolated from the seeds of P. orylifolia. Like other furanocoumarins, isopsoralen has antibacterial activity against many gram (+) and Gram (-) bacteria. It has also been shown to prevent tagline-induced cytotoxicity in human hepato-derived HepG2 cells (EC50=47μg/ml) and vascular relaxation in rat aorta pre-constricted by deoxyadrenaline (reference)
