Huperdine A is a natural alkaloid extracted from Melaleuca, a plant of the Chinese medicinal tree. It is a potent, reversible and highly selective second-generation acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. It is a yellowish to white crystalline powder, soluble in chloroform, soluble in methanol, ethanol, slightly soluble in water, and has high lipid solubility (refer to relevant literature).
