Nicotinamide mononucleotides are converted into "nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)" which is essential for energy metabolism in the body. In mouse experiments, niacinamide mononucleotides have been shown to activate a gene called acetylase in the body, which can play a role in prolonging life and treating diabetes. NAD is a substance that the human body can originally produce, and studies have shown that the level of NAD in the body decreases with age (see related literature)
