A natural crosslinking agent extracted from the fruit of gardenia. It prevents lipid peroxidation and the production of nitric oxide. Genipin protects hippocampal neurons from the toxicity of Alzheimer's 'amyloid beta. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic effects.
